Karastan Statement Maker

Karastan used the slogan “Make a Statement — Your Own” in combination with product imagery and a successful female to appeal to its target audience of individual, design-conscious women. The 5th edition of this series featuring Jewel Murray ran print ads beginning in 2009 in major home-related magazines.

Honors Award in the 39th Creativity Annual Awards.

Target iFair Identity

This collateral is from Target’s 2006 iFair. The show was for Target hardlines designers and vendors to collaborate on the creation of new Target goods.

Out on the Water Sailing Print Identity and Marketing

Out on the Water Sailing is a sailing school, charter company and LGBT adventure-sports enterprise with destinations of NYC, New England, and distant exotic shores. Offline marketing initiatives include business cards, posters, flyers, and apparel.

Karastan Point of Purchase

Karastan Point of Purchase

Karastan created “National Karastan Month,” a bi-annual sale that features their carpets and rugs at discounted prices. In combination with a print campaign, Karastan uses point of purchase displays to emphasize the sale. In addition to posters, duratrans, and rack display graphics, 3-D cubes with sleeves were created to allow the dealer to assemble custom arrangements that include roomscenes, products, or messages of their choosing.

GLAP Rebranding

GLAP (Gay and Lesbian Affirmative Psychotherapy) required a rebranding based on their current rainbow themed logo. New pieces included a website, HTML email marketing and print collateral.

Karastan Broadmoor

Karastan at the Broadmoor

Every couple of years, Karastan holds a national sales meeting to applaud its dealers, hold informational lectures, and highlight its latest products. “Step up – Step Ahead!” was the 2010 theme, where stair step images were repeated throughout the showroom and on print collateral.

WOOF'S Bar

Woof's Identity and Marketing

WOOF’s is a Madison, Wisconsin sports bar catering to the gay community. Displayed are print advertising, t-shirt designs, bicycling jerseys for the ACT7 Aids Ride, coasters, and an HTML newsletter.

Walgreens Rewards

Design lab responded when Walgreens asked IOOC to design a rewards program from the ground up—over 50 pieces of direct mail, email, promotional signage as well as the look and feel of the website. Walgreens loved the results and signups exceeded expectations.

Uniek Flair4all

Uniek is a major designer, manufacturer, and supplier of picture frames and home decor accents for retailers in North America. Mani & Co. was commissioned to create sticker artwork designs for Flair4All, Uniek’s private line of wall stickers.

True Value Urban

True Value Urban

True Value established a direct mail program that appealed to suburban and rural locals, but not their urban counterparts that would have patrons with different needs. A series of urban-geared direct mailings were created to appeal to this different kind of customer base.

Balducci's Bistro

BALDUCCI'S BISTRO CAMPAIGN

Design Lab inspired the customers of Balducci’s market to turn to the store when they needed delicious, pre-cooked meals in a hurry, using a campaign that showcased signature dishes in mailers, posters, emails, and on the Balducci’s website. 30 of the dishes were photographed and paired with brief descriptions of the food that emphasized their quality and cost-effectiveness.

Juan Carlos Gordillo identity

Gordillo, an up-and-coming Guatemalan women’s fashion designer, required an identity that highlighted his Latin roots so he could showcase his work at various fashion shows around the world. Items included a large banner and fold-out business cards.

Park It! NYC

Park It! NYC

Park It! is a complete guide to parking garages in New York City. Design Lab excecuted multiple editions of the guide and other related collateral such as a simplified map of the city.

Kastan SmartStrand Point of Purchase

SmartStrand is Karastan’s line of environmentally friendly products with stain resistant treatments. The point of purchase items include imagery that emphasizes SmartStrand’s soft, care-free, and environmentally friendly qualities.
